Porsche 911 GT3 Overview
he Porsche GT3 is back! This old friend the "911" returned supercar transformed GT3 is back on the scene again for 2010. The new Porsche GT3 is an amazing performance machine with sleek styling and impressive handling. This total package for any Porsche enthusiast is practically a Porsche race car. The sound, styling, and performance is very similar. The only thing missing is the livery! The sound produced is nearly identical to what you would expect to hear on the track. Raspy yet powerfull sound from the boxer engine is a great quality this supercar masters.
More specifically the boxer engine used by Porsche and Subaru is widely accepted in race applications due to it's ability to properly balance the vehicle. The flat engine design keeps the center of gravity low, allowing better cornering and steering response. Also, the crank and piston setup allow for better torque and faster RPM response as opposed to V style engines. There is less piston slap because the flat engine crank and piston setup is closer to perfect round which allows faster and higher RPM's in shorter times. These engines also have extremely high horsepower per liter a historically rich racing heritage. First, let's check out the specs.
